| Dazed and Confused Hedi Slimane's cover re mix Jan09Tue, 06 Jan 2009 09:53:39 -0800 by jonnycharlesharrisDazed and Confused magazine invited me to re mix their January09 edition on British Youth Culture using photographs by Hedi Slimane. I wanted to convey the idea of breaking apart and transforming something into a beautiful, flowing movement of imagery which links and works together to form something new. For the subject matter I've broken apart the helmet photo, forming symmetrical shapes. The idea is to start off with a full helmet and finish with an intricate web of inter connecting shapes made up of elements from the helmet and various other armor. The technique I've used is to print out the images, photo copy them, then photo copy the copy, and so on until the image forms a completely different shape. These are then scanned back in to the computer and cut put together like stop frame animation. It gives it quite a low-fi organic feel. Various images are then colorised in bright neons every few frames. Related: dazed and confused hedi slimane jonny charles harris re mix motion graphics |

| Five Hundred Miles -Hedy West's CoverTue, 30 Dec 2008 23:55:18 -0800 by CoverMargueriteThis song was written (words and music) a long time ago : before the fifties of the twentieth century by Hedy West. Many folksingers of the fifties and the sixties sung it, for example Peter, Paul and Mary. It was known in France by the french translation sung by Richard Anthony : "Et j'entends siffler le train". I make here a cover of it singing on my guitar. Paro les et Musique : Hedy West Related: five hundred miles hedy west peter paul mary covermarguerite marguerite folksong folksinger |
