Our Jakarta bureau gives us a peek at how people there are getting ready. STORY:Jakarta's Glodok Chinatown features thousands of Chinese New Year accessories from the largest retail stores to the smallest street vendors.Hanging firecrackers, Chinese paper lanterns, posters, pictures, you name it and you'll find it somewhere here.Let's not forget the special Chinese New Year red envelopes, lucky trees, basket cakes and fruit sweets.Vendor have been selling New Year merchandise since December.[Aping, Seller]:"Lots of buyers come especially starting in the beginning of January. There were not so many in December because people want to celebrate Christmas and the international New Year first. But now, the Chinese New Year makes many of them come here.”Every day hundreds of shoppers come to Chinatown to find their Chinese New Year needs.
