| Israel's failure to learnFri, 09 Jan 2009 01:00:20 -0800 by ArchivesAlgeriennesWhen George Bush, the US president, first entered the White House as the commander-in-chief in 2001, Palestinians were being killed in the al-Aqsa intifada.Eight years later, as Bush prepares to leave office, Israel is carrying out one of the largest massacres in its 60-year occupation of Palestine. The US, then and now, strongly backs Israel's offensive, justifying it as being, in fact, defensive. An Israeli general recently threatened to use military force to set Gaza back decades in much the same language used before the invasion of Lebanon in 2006. But despite the Israeli devastation of Lebanon, Hezbollah emerged victorious and the Shia resistance and social movement emerged a hero to the Arab world.Israel is about to make the same mistake with Hamas. Its notion of a truce with Hamas was that the Palestinians would quietly accept the siege. Israel would deny them the basic means of survival, let alone the basic means to create a functioning society. If the Palestinians attempted to resist, they would be crushed. As in Lebanon, Israel should have learned years ago that military might cannot crush Palestinian resistance movements. While the Israeli military again bombs the starving and imprisoned population of 1.5 million Gazans, the world watches their plight live as Western media scrambles to explain and, in some cases, justify the ongoing carnage.Even some Arab outlets have attempted to equate Palestinian resistance - and homemade rockets - with the might of the Israeli military machine. However, none of this is a surprise; the Israelis just concluded a global public relations campaign to gather support for their assault, even gaining the collaboration of some Arab states. An American periodical once asked me to contribute to a discussion on whether terrorism or attacks against civilians could ever be justified. My answer was that an American journal should not be asking whether attacks on civilians can ever be justified. This is a question for the weak, such as the Native Americans 150 years ago, the Jews in Nazi Germany, and the Palestinians today, to answer.Terrorism is a normative term which is used to describe what the 'other' does, not what 'we' do.Powerful nations such as Israel, the US, Russia or China will always describe their victims' struggle as terrorism. However, they fail to acknowledge as acts of terror the destruction of Chechnya, the slow slaughter of the remaining Palestinians, the repression of Tibetans, and the US occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan.Normativ e rules and what is legal and permissible are determined by the powerful. They formulate the concept of terrorism in normative terms and make it appear as if a neutral court derived such definitions instead of the oppressors. For the weak to resist becomes illegal by definition. This excessive use of legal jargon actually undermines the fundamentals of what is truly legal and diminishes the credibility of international institutions such as the UN. The law becomes the enemy of those who struggle. It becomes apparent that the powerful - those who make the rules - insist on legality merely to preserve the power relations that serve them or to maintain their occupation and colonialism.Colonial powers use civilians strategically, settling them to claim land and dispossess the natives, be they indigenous populations in North America or Palestinians in what are today Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.Attackin g civilians, then, becomes the last, most desperate and basic method of resistance in the face of overwhelming odds and imminent eradication. The Palestinians do not attack Israeli civilians with the expectation that such violence will destroy or defeat Israel. When the native population understands that there is an irreversible dynamic stripping them of their land and identity with the support of an overwhelming power then they are forced to resort to whatever methods of resistance they can muster. In 1948, when Israel was being established as a new state, 750,000 Palestinians were deliberately cleansed and expelled from their homes, and hundreds of their villages were destroyed.Their lands were settled by colonists who even today deny their very existence and wage a 60-year war against the remaining natives and the national liberation movements the Palestinians established around the world.Israel, its allies in the West and some regional Arab countries have managed to corrupt the leadership of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) and entice them with the promise of power at the expense of liberty for their people. This eventually neutralised and transformed the PLO into a liberation movement which collaborates with the occupier. The focus then shifted to Hamas, a movement which won legislative elections nearly three years ago and thus became a target for the Israelis. | Turkey for Indirect Israel-Syria Peace TalksFri, 09 Jan 2009 00:53:06 -0800 by TheLeadersOfTheWorldStuck between the difficulty in balancing history and religion.*Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met with Turkish premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss the indirect talks that Turkey is mediating between the Jewish state and Syria. On his short visit to the Turkish capital, Olmert was expected to thank Turkey for its efforts to work out an eventual peace between the two neighbouring nations, which have been in a state of war since 1948, according to a diplomatic source. In a related development Erdogan told Hamas that he would ask Olmert to lift the blockade of Gaza, a spokesman for the Islamist movement said. After Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan flew to Syria, a Turkish diplomatic source affirmed that the indirect peace talks between Syria and Israel have been suspended indefinitely due to Israel's continuing bombardment of the Gaza Strip. Echoing comments by Turkey's Foreign Minister Ali Babacan, a Turkish diplomatic source in Lebanon told The Daily Star that under the current circumstances continuing with the talks was "not possible." "Israel's policy to go to war with the Palestinians while talking about peace with the Syrians is very disappointing," the diplomatic source said, adding that "it will be difficult to continue from this point on." Babacan first expressed his disappointment after a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart, Ahmad Abu al-Gheit, in Ankara, saying that given the continued attacks in Gaza indirect peace talks were impossible. Turkey's role as mediator in Syrian-Israeli peace talks was revealed in May, but the talks, centered on a transfer of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, are rumored to have sputtered since Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert announced his decision to resign this summer. Both Turkey and Egypt have played leading mediating roles in the Middle East in recent years, but the countries' responses to the crisis have been markedly different.?????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ???? ????? ?????? ?? ????? ??? ????? ??? ????? ???? ????? ??????? ???? ??? ??? ????? ????? ?? ???? ???? ?????? ??????? ?????? ??????????? ???. ???? ??????? ???? ??????? ???????? -??? ?? ????? ????? ??????? ??? ????? ???? ?? ????? ???????- ??????? 14 ?? ????? ???? ????? ???? ?????? ???????? ??????? ?? ??????? ????. ???? ????? ??????? ?? ???? ???????? ??????? ????? ????? ???? ????? ?????? ?????? ?????? ???? ?? ?????? ??????? ?????? ??????? ???? 24 ???? ?????? ???????. ????? ??????? ??? ??????? ??? ???? ?? ?????? ?? ???? ??????? ?????????? ????? ?????? ??? ?????? ???? ??? ???? ???? ?? ???? ?????. ????? ??? ??? | UN :resolution passes Security - Council calls for cease-fire in GazaThu, 08 Jan 2009 23:01:50 -0800 by ArchivesAlgeriennes???? ???? ????? ?????? ?? ????? ??? ????? ??? ????? ???? ????? ??????? ???? ??? ??? ????? ????? ?? ???? ???? ?????? ??????? ?????? ??????????? ???. ???? ??????? ???? ??????? ???????? -??? ?? ????? ????? ??????? ??? ????? ???? ?? ????? ???????- ??????? 14 ?? ????? ???? ????? ???? ?????? ???????? ??????? ?? ??????? ????. The U.N. Security Council late Thursday overwhelmingly approved a resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza. Fourteen of the council's 15 members voted in favor of the resolution, with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice abstaining from the vote on behalf of the United States. The resolution expresses "grave concern" about the growing humanitarian crisis and heavy civilian casualties in Gaza, as well as civilian deaths in Israel from Hamas rocket fire.Roughly 765 Palestinians and 13 Israelis, including 10 soldiers, have been killed since Israel began its military assault on Gaza on December 27. The resolution "stresses the urgency of, and calls for, an immediate, durable, and fully respected cease-fire which will lead to the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza."A resolution from the council, particularly one that passes with such large support, can put international pressure on parties involved in a conflict. But they are in no way binding, and many in the past have been ignored by warring factions. "We are all very conscious that peace is made on the ground while resolutions are written in the U.N.," said British Foreign Secretary David Miliband. "Our job here is to support the efforts for peace on the ground and turn the good words on paper into changes on the ground that are so desperately needed."Rice applauded the resolution's goals, but said the United States prefers to wait for results of ongoing, Egyptian-brokered talks in Cairo, Egypt, with Israeli and Palestinian leaders. She said the United States supported the text, goals and objectives of the resolution, but that the United States feels it's important to see the terms of any cease-fire hammered out in Egypt. The resolution welcomes efforts by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to broker a cease-fire. It calls for opening corridors to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza -- where food, water, electricity and medicine shortages have worsened already poor conditions since Israel's offensive in Gaza began.Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Gabriela Shalev, told the Security Council that Hamas rocket attacks "left us with no choice.""The responsibility for the current hostilities lies squarely on Hamas," she said. "The international community must focus its efforts on the Hamas activity and make sure that the terrorist activity can never be legitimate." The Israeli military says its operation is aimed at halting the firing of rockets into southern Israel by Hamas, which has controlled Gaza since 2007.Wrangling over the resolution centered on wording. Arab countries generally pushed for language demanding Israel cease its attacks, while Western diplomats wanted more neutral language."Security for the people of Gaza, too. Not security for Israel alone," Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa, of Egypt, said before the vote as reporters were asking diplomats about the resolution. The 15-member Security Council is tasked by the United Nations with establishing and maintaining peace around the globe. It has the power to create peacekeeping operations, impose sanctions and authorize military action. The United States, Russia, China, France and Great Britain are the five permanent members, with the other 10 elected by the U.N. assembly to two-year terms. Any one of the permanent members can veto a resolution. | U S abstains from Voting for resolutionThu, 08 Jan 2009 22:54:34 -0800 by ArchivesAlgeriennesThe UN Security Council has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza that Arab nations hope will put an end to Israel's 14-day assault on the territory. The resolution, passed by the 15-member body on Thursday with 14 votes in favour and only the US abstaining, "stresses the urgency of and calls for an immediate, durable and fully respected ceasefire, leading to the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza".The resolution also called for arrangements in Gaza to prevent arms smuggling to Palestinian fighters and reopen border crossings. It said there should be "unimpeded provision" and distribution of aid to the territory, where more than 770 Palestinians have been killed since Israel launched its offensive.Ban Ki-moon, the UN secretary-general, said he was "heartened and relieved" by the passing of the resolution. The UN chief, who will visit the Middle East next week for talks on the crisis, said the UN "stands ready" and that a ceasefire would be a "first step", but that "a political way forward is required to deliver long-term security and peace".The text was the product of days of tortuous negotiations between top diplomats from the United States, Britain and France and Arab states.Arab countries, many facing strong anti-Israeli sentiment at home, insisted the Security Council must issue a binding resolution that would force Israel to end its military campaign in the Gaza Strip immediately. Israel had opposed the idea of a binding UN resolution. The United States had backed its ally Israel but diplomats said it dropped its objections and agreed to go along with a cautiously worded text. The US abstained from voting for the resolution, but Condoleezza Rice, the secretary of state, said the United States supported the contents of the resolution. "The United States thought it important to see the outcomes of the Egyptian mediation efforts in order to see what this resolution might have been supporting," she said. Riyad al Maliki, the Palestinian foreign minister, sounded sceptical after the passage of the resolution and said it might not bring about an immediate end to the violence in Gaza.He said it would be naive to expect that Israel would implement the ceasefire call immediately. He said he feared that the Israelis would expand their Gaza offensive in the next few days, to hit more targets before any truce comes into effect."I do believe that we will witness in the next two days vicious attacks against the Palestinian people and more Palestinians being killed even after such resolution has been passed," al Maliki said.Al Jazeera's Ghida Fakhry, reporting from the UN, said the resolution was only a partial victory for Arab leaders, who succeeded in pushing through a resolution when the US and other nations were keener on issuing a non-binding "presidential statement". | Ambulances blocked at border by EgyptThu, 08 Jan 2009 22:38:32 -0800 by ArchivesAlgeriennesCNN's Karl Penhaul reports on the chaos at the Gaza-Egypt border, as ambulances try to get patients to The International Committee of the Red Cross called on Israel to allow it immediate access to Gaza, saying a trip into Gaza City revealed weak children laying with their dead mothers and other "shocking" scenes. Red Cross workers and four ambulances from the Palestine Red Crescent Society managed to enter the Zaytun neighborhood of Gaza City on Wednesday, according to a written release. The crew found four children, too weak to stand, next to their dead mothers in a house containing 12 corpses, the statement says.Other houses revealed more wounded and three more corpses, the release said. It said Israeli soldiers posted near the houses ordered the rescue team to leave the area -- an order the team refused."This is a shocking incident," said Pierre Wettach, the ICRC's chief official for Israel and the Palestinian territories. "The Israeli military must have been aware of the situation but did not assist the wounded. Neither did they make it possible for us or the Palestine Red Crescent to assist the wounded." A spokesman for Israel's military said early Thursday that the Red Cross's news release was the first he had heard of the alleged incident. Speaking after midnight, the spokesman said he was unsure if Israel has received a formal request to investigate."We do make every effort and our soldiers do put themselves at risk" to help wounded civilians, the spokesman told CNN's Christiane Amanpour. The Red Cross release said the children and other wounded were taken to ambulances in a donkey cart because earth walls erected by Israeli soldiers made it impossible for the ambulances to reach their neighborhood It said the group was told more wounded people were in the neighborhood, and demanded that Israel grant it and the Red Crescent immediate access and safe passage to search for them. The Israeli spokesman said the military has established a 24-hour liaison to maintain contacts with humanitarian organizations. The Israeli military operation in Gaza has killed at least 680 people and injured more than 3,000 since it launched December 27, Palestinian medical sources said Wednesday. Thirty percent of the deaths are women and children, according to the U.N.'s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, citing statistics released Tuesday by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.advertisement Seven Israeli soldiers and three civilians have been killed since the operation, the Israeli military reported.Israel says the purpose of the operation is to stop Hamas militants from firing rockets from Gaza into southern Israel. | Ancient Egypt & Mystery Schools VII - Alchemy, Magic & Solomon's Temple-1Thu, 08 Jan 2009 22:03:44 -0800 by igorfrankensteinRabbi Kaufmann wrote in "The Biblical Era" book, that "The foundations of the Hebrew/Jewish religion such as myth of the Creation, devotional exercise, order of the clergy, prophecies, psalms, code of laws and morals are inherited from the traditions of the Middle East. The New Testament was written in the 4th century AD in Greek language and translated to Latin in the 6th century AD. They were the "Codex Sinaiticus" and the "Codex Vaticanus". In order to legalize the "new religion" and establish the priesthood and church hierarchy, bishop Eusebius of Caesarea (260 to 340 AD.), a Church historian made an appropriate selection of parts of the Hebrew Canon of scriptures, known as the "Old Testament" and integrated them into a carefully revised collection of Christian writings, known as the "New Testament". The early Church Fathers accepted them in 325 AD at the first Council of Nicea (Turkey) and the combined books became the "Holy Book" of all the Christian Churches. The legend of the King Solomon's Temple is in the adopted Hebrew Scriptures, called the "Old Testament". We have to look back into history if we want to find out the truth. Solomon was the son of David, but since David himself was a mythological hero, with no historical proof to the contrary, we are under no obligation to believe he had a son named Solomon. According to Chronicles 9:23: "all kings of the earth sought his presence."If this be so, it is strange none of them mention him. His time allegedly was just prior to Homer and Hesiod, yet they do not mention King Solomon. Herodotus who traveled throughout the entire Middle East does not mention him, or even the Hebrews. The Temple of Jerusalem, which all archeologists have shown to be a structure with nothing like the pretended antiquity of its erection, and incorrectly called after a fictitious monarch, whose name proves his mystical character. The name of Solomon is made up of the three ancient Sun names: The Roman SOL, the Hindu OM, and the Chaldeo-Egyptian ON. The architecture and the inside arrangements of the allegorical Solomon Temple were undoubtedly borrowed from the Egyptians and described it in the Hebrew scriptural book. His "Holy Temple" has gone down in history as one of the greatest of all buildings, yet according to specifications it was small indeed, only about 40 x 120 feet. Compared to other ancient Temples, this one was insignificant. Consider Nagkon-Wat in Cambodia, for instance. It is 769 x 588 x 250 feet, elaborately carved and columned. In the stonework there are approximately 100,000 figures, one picture occupying 240 feet. King Solomon's Temple was a poor imitation of the Great Sandstone Temple of "Horus", near Edfu in Upper Egypt. According to the Old Testament, Solomon's Temple was surrounded with spacious courts. In the court of the priests was an altar. From this court 12 steps ascended to the Temple, which was divided into three parts: the Porch; the Sanctuary and the Holy of Holies. The Temple of Edfu has the same arrangement. King Solomon's Temple was 120 ft. long and 40 ft. wide and it was completed in 957 BC (?). Temple of Edfu is 450 ft. long and 150 ft. wide and it was built around 1,300 BC. It has two tall obelisks at the Porch. King Solomon's Temple had two pillars at the Porch. The right pillar was "Jachin", which means: "to establish" and the left one was "Boaz", which means: "in strength". The Hypostyle Hall of the Temple of "Osiris" in Abydos, Upper Egypt has two pillars at the entrance. The right pillar is "Tattu", which means: "to establish", and the left one is "Tat", which means: "in strength". The Temple and the Hall were built around 2,500 BC. The Ark of the Covenant in King Solomon's Temple had exactly the same dimensions as the baptismal font in the King's chamber of Khufu or Cheops pyramid at Gizeh, near Cairo. The pyramid was built between 3,733 and 3,700 BC. According to the Old Testament, King Solomon's Temple originally was built on very hard rock on Mt. Moriah. Its foundation was laid very deep. The Temple was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylonia in 586 BC. The archeologists dug out cities and ruins of the ancient civilizations, but they didn't find the ruins of King Solomon's Temple in spite of fact, that they knew that the Temple location was on Mt. Moriah, and that it was built on very hard rock, and that the foundations were very deep in the ground. In 1130 AD the Scotch Templars were excavating a place at Mt. Moriah (Temple Mount) on the spot where the alleged temple of Solomon had stood. During their work they found two stones which were the cornerstones of the Jebusites Temple. In the foundation stones of the Temple had Phoenician cuneiform epigraph and a Crux Gammata (swastika), the symbol of the Sun-God.Temple of Solomon (and its High Magic) is a Hebrew allegory of the Temple of Horus with factual details from the Temple of Osiris in Karnak complex and its origin is from the Khemet Mystery School.
