| Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 20 part EFri, 05 Dec 2008 11:05:12 -0800 by Toothache42This is the fiftyth part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood and party finally manage to take out Oleg, the leader of the bandits attacking them. Afterwards, Isadora arrives, and says she has been given orders by Eliwood's mother to stay by his side. Hector decides after everything they had been through, they had best contact his brother, the marquess of Ostia.I gain Florina/Hector C support here. I dont gain Raven/Bartre C yet, but I get as many turns towards it as I can. I stop since I have probably run out of support points for that chapter. I move cautiously towards the boss so I can steal the Hero Crest he holds, since he doesnt drop it like most bosses. I had a similar situation with Zoldam in Ch17. Florina rescues Matthew after he steals the crest, giving Eliwood and Hector a free run to attack the boss.I am giving a lot of exp to the lords now, so I can recruit Geitz in Four-Fanged Offence, coming up in a few chapters. By then, I need to have all three lord's levels totalling 50 or more. Related: fire emblem blazing sword lyn eliwood hector | |

| Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 20 part DFri, 05 Dec 2008 09:33:05 -0800 by Toothache42This is the fourty-ninth part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part Eliwood and party manage to clear out all the reinforcements, but decide to proceed cautiously in the darkness to find the commander and take him out. Matthew, who has the sharpest eyes, spots him, and Eliwood takes the time to plan his next move...I prepare to steal the Hero Crest from Oleg (because he does not drop it). More support building - Ninian/Eliwood C, and some towards Bartre/Raven and Hector/Florina. I also bring Bartre down to the arena, so he can build up exp without stealing it from other units. | Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 20 part CFri, 05 Dec 2008 08:08:07 -0800 by Toothache42This is the fourty-eighth part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood and party manage to clear out most of the remaining bandits. Because it is so dark, they prepare to deal with any reinforcements that appear, especially the feared wyvern riders that now seem to be allied with the bandits. The support building really gets in swing now there are few enemies to deal with. I move Raven away from Priscilla in order to avoid building up their support, since the support points would take away from the supports I have planned to use. In case you dont know, there is a limited number of support points that can be gained per chapter, so minimising the amount of supports built, but maximising the efficiency is the prudent thing to do. Florina/Lyn gain B support in this part Related: fire emblem blazing sword lyn eliwood hector | |

| Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 20 part BFri, 05 Dec 2008 06:45:16 -0800 by Toothache42This is the fourty-seventh part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood and party continue to clear out the bandits attacking the village. They move cautiously because of the darkness, often making steps forwards then back to ensure their own safety as well as that of the port of Badon. Bartre goes north to get the Elysian Whip, since bandits usually destroy that house early. I do my best to minimise the exp Bartre gets, since he is so much higher level than the others, he gains less exp from defeating enemies. He does take out the Poison Axe bandit since that was impossible for Hector to manage. Florina gets the Wyrmslayer, a very handy weapon for later on.Poison goes away after a few turns, as demonstrated on Hector. Also, it only does a small amount of damage. I start to build up Bartre/Raven support, but since it is 40 turns for a C rank, it will take some time to establish. Related: fire emblem blazing sword lyn eliwood hector | |

| Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 20 part AFri, 05 Dec 2008 05:31:56 -0800 by Toothache42This is the fourth-sixth part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood is trying to come to terms with the loss of his father. Ninian blames herself, but Eliwood tries to persuade her it wasn't her fault. Ninian senses danger, and Eliwood goes out to meet Hector and Lyn, who were also warned of the danger by Nils. This will be one of the few chapters where I do some more support building, especially on some of the supports that take time to build. Getting too close to the boss will trigger him to move, and the chapter ends once the boss is defeated, so I must stay back and not get too close in order to continue building turns for supports. I gain the Restore staff, which heals status like Poison and Sleep, and there are enemies with Poison weapons in this chapter. It is often more prudent to let the poison take effect in order to build up more healing exp on Priscilla, since she cannot gain exp any other way before promotion.Speaking of promotion, I also promote Bartre here since he reaches L20. On promotion, he gains the use of bows, which are effective against flying units, and may prove extra useful in areas with a lot of wyverns or pegasi. | Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 19 part DThu, 27 Nov 2008 09:07:45 -0800 by Toothache42This is the fourty-fifth part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood and his party have finally finished off Darin, but his reinforcements remain, so they are taken out and the party is suitably rested before they finally proceed towards the Dragon's Gate itself. There they meet Eliwood's father, but not before Nergal uses Ninian in a strange ritual...If you've not seen this part before, I will not spoil what happens, other than to say this is one of the more significant parts of the story. I break up the pairs of units after they support someone, because they continue to drain support points from other units otherwise. Supports gained in this part are Matthew/Oswin C, Lyn/Kent C, Sain/Kent B, Canas/Bartre B, and Hector/Oswin B. Related: fire emblem blazing sword lyn eliwood hector | |

| Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 19 part CThu, 27 Nov 2008 06:56:23 -0800 by Toothache42This is the fourty-fourth part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood and party proceed to further fight their way through Darin's army. Lyn speaks to the mysterious man Eliwood spotted earlier, Legault, and convinces him to join them. With most of the reinforcements dead, everyone converges on Lord Darin himself to finish him off once and for all. But will this final fight prove too much for Eliwood and his party?Bartre gets the kill on Darin, but just falls short of L20, so I will promote him in Ch20. I use this time to set up supports and start building those, also giving Priscilla more healing to do. I could have taken out the archers before going for Darin, but I didnt think of that at the time. I'd also forgot Lyn could recruit Legault, so I was trying to block his escape with Lyn and Oswin. | Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 19 part BThu, 27 Nov 2008 05:03:31 -0800 by Toothache42This is the fourty-third part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood and party proceed closer to Darin. The enclosed terrain makes it difficult, and the number of enemy reinforcements grow steadily. Eliwood notices a mysterious figure who is apparently not interested in attacking him, but is too far away to speak to him before he vanishes. Who is this person, and will Eliwood succeed in defeating Darin?Eliwood is just short of recruiting Legault by two squares, showing how important early recruitment can be. The reinforcements really go to town in this part. With Hector's aid Matthew gets the two chests to the left. Raven/Rebecca C support appears here. I use this chapter to build a lot of supports, especially in part D. Related: fire emblem blazing sword lyn eliwood hector | |

| Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 19 part AThu, 27 Nov 2008 03:08:34 -0800 by Toothache42This is the fourty-second part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood finally arrives at the Dragon's Gate, and encounters the enigmatic Ephidel. Ephidel kidnaps Ninian and takes him to Nergal. Darin is here too, and it becomes clear that they would have to beat Darin to rescue Eliwood's father and Ninian. In the midst of all this, a mysterious figure decides he has had enough of the Black Fang...This is one of the largest chapters in the game, and one of the most awkward with the number of reinforcements that appear and the size of the map itself. I use the Unlock staff for the first time to give Matthew a break. I split the party up here and give them individual roles - Raven and Rebecca are left behind to defend Merlinus, Bartre and Canas attack the reinforcements that come out of the middle. Matthew heads straight for the chests while everyone else forces their way as quickly as possible to Legault. Eliwood takes out Cameron, the biggest threat early on. | Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 18x part CThu, 27 Nov 2008 01:14:21 -0800 by Toothache42This is the fourty-first part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. After Eliwood and party discover the origin of the magic seal, they manage to destroy its guards then attempt to kill Kishuna, but it escapes before they can manage it. After he leaves, the magic seal vanishes, and then Aion decides to attack. He is beaten, and Eliwood can now proceed finally towards the Dragon's Gate. I let Bartre take out Kishuna's guards, and give a good demonstration of what to do against Kishuna itself. It is possible to kill Kishuna, but it is much easier in Hector mode when you have a few more items (including a Silver Axe). He has extremely high avoid, fast enough to avoid being doubled, and has good defence, though so you need a lot of luck to kill him, even with all the offence you can muster.Speaking of difficult things to kill, Aion can be hard to hit too, but I have little problem with that here. Oswin gets the kill to keep him in the running. Aion loves to use Bolting, which does make him easier to take down since even super-slow Oswin was doubling him with Bolting equipped. | Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 18x part BWed, 26 Nov 2008 23:20:36 -0800 by Toothache42This is the fourtyth part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood's party proceed closer towards the Dragon's Gate, and the eerie magic seal that his covering the area north of the mountains. With reinforcements coming from behind, a magic seal nearby and a tough enemy ahead in Aion, will Eliwood be able to succeed?I'd forgotten about the reinforcements from the forts, so I sent back Canas, Matthew and Oswin to take care of them. Merlinus proves how durable he can be against even magic. By using staves as much as possible, Priscilla is able to keep up with everyone, since she cannot attack or defend herself until promotion. | Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 18x part AWed, 26 Nov 2008 21:38:36 -0800 by Toothache42This is the thirty-ninth part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood, Lyn and Hector proceed towards the Dragon's Gate. After breaking up a small argument between Lyn and Hector, Eliwood encounters a shaman who teleports in, and he and his party proceed to fight their way through towards the location of the Dragon's Gate. However, a magic seal appears, preventing magic use within its area of effect, and affecting both Eliwood's units and the enemy units too.I put some more work into raising Rebecca and Raven here. Rushing this chapter can easily prove fatal with the strong offenses of the mages and shamans. Neither the bandits nor the armours are a real threat, and the pegasi are not strong enough to cause a huge problem either. Nevertheless I take it easy throughout because it can quickly go wrong, and I dont want to give Aion a chance to use Bolting before Kishuna arrives. | Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 18 part CWed, 26 Nov 2008 19:51:25 -0800 by Toothache42This is the thirty-eighth part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Hector finally reaches Uhai and is forced to kill him, but Uhai decides to tell them where the Dragon's Gate is located. Matthew tells them that he gave Leila's body to the crew of the Davros, and then they prepare to proceed towards the Dragon's Gate.Uhai has severly high avoid and is also standing in forest, which adds another 10% to avoid, making him difficult to hit. I just manage to kill him on turn 15, otherwise I would have missed the gaiden. Since he has a Longbow, he can attack up to 3 squares away, avoiding counterattacks from other ranged weapons which only reach 2 squares. Kent takes the kill since he is the last one to hit, but with Uhai's high evasion anyone could have. Related: fire emblem blazing sword lyn eliwood hector | |

| Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 18 part BWed, 26 Nov 2008 18:02:46 -0800 by Toothache42This is the thirty-seventh part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Florina successfully persuades her sister Fiora to join the fight. Hector and Oswin, along with Kent and Sain proceed further towards Uhai, while the rest of Eliwood's troops defend from pirates on all sides. But even with the addition of another pegasus knight, will they have enough to survive and beat Uhai?Despite the slow progress of the forward group, they make it to Uhai in plenty of time. Sain takes a lot of punishment so I'm forced to make him head back to the fort and heal. Dart becomes a useful blocker and prevents any serious damage to the frailer units defending the area near Merlinus. Sain/Kent gain C support finally. | Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 18 part AWed, 26 Nov 2008 15:53:41 -0800 by Toothache42This is the thirty-sixth part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood and party prepare to proceed through the forest on the Dread Isle, where they discover the body of the Ostian spy Leila. Just then, Uhai appears to capture Ninian and, displaying his Sacaen honour, gives them a chance to leave the island peacefully. So Eliwood and party prepare the difficult journey through the forest, but will they prevail over the nomad Uhai?I chose not to use Matthew this time, even though being a thief gave him sight advantage over the other units. Would be more of a challenge. To reach the gaiden for this chapter, I need to finish in 15 turns or less, which is easily possible since its a small area, although the large number of trees slow the progress down somewhat. Florina is there to recruit Fiora, and Dart is forced on you for this chapter. Fiora steals a kill but nothing major. Related: fire emblem blazing sword lyn eliwood hector | |

| Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 17 part BSat, 22 Nov 2008 09:21:38 -0800 by Toothache42This is the thirty-fifth part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. Continuing the fight to defend the Davros, Eliwood and party clear the ship, and kill their leader. With the repairs finished, the pirate crew come to their aid. Speaking with Ninian, they discover she has lost her memory. They finally arrive on the Dread Isle, and one of the pirate crew, Dart, decides he wants to join Eliwood and his party. Erk/Priscilla gain C support finally, and Matthew steals the Guiding Ring, which is a promotion item for magic units. Between Erk and Canas, just one more ring is needed. I put some focus here into building Lyn/Florina and Guy/Matthew too. This chapter runs for 11 turns normally, but with killing the boss earlier than that, the chapter ends early. Not all defend chapters experience this, but some do, and this is one. Related: fire emblem blazing sword lyn eliwood hector | |

| Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 17 part ASat, 22 Nov 2008 07:17:33 -0800 by Toothache42This is the thirty-fourth part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood is speaking to Fargus as they sail towards the Dread Isle, when they discover a boat, containing none other than Ninian! She seems to be struggling to speak, when they spot a pirate ship which attacks, causing a leak in the hull. The pirates decide to work on plugging the leak while Eliwood and party defend the ship. This part is rather annoying since the shamans you fight, while not fast, are strong. Erk and Florina are the units with highest magic resistance (Res), so they focus on clearing them up, with a little help from everyone else. Kent blocks the right side while everyone heads towards the boss. Related: fire emblem blazing sword lyn eliwood hector | |

| Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 16x part CSat, 22 Nov 2008 05:11:35 -0800 by Toothache42This is the thirty-third part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood and Hector clear up the last of the pirates, take a visit around the port to seek more aid, then speak to Fargus who agrees to allow them aboard his ship. Lyn is not happy at the arrangement but realises she has little choice. This part shows two aspects of the game which makes it easier. The first is the arena. In a few chapters throughout the game is an arena. You can bet gold in the arena on your unit winning, and if you win you get double back. The enemies are random, so some match-ups might be favourable for the unit while others are not. This is a useful but risky way of building your units up early, since they also gain experience. The second thing demonstrated here is how to build up supports. You see three supports in this part - Hector/Oswin B, Priscilla/Guy C and Canas/Bartre C. It takes several turns in many cases to build up supports which is why it is often prudent to forcibly build them up over many turns. Supports can only raise by one level between one pair per chapter, so it is theoritically possible to have an A rank support with one pair within 3 chapters of the unit arriving. | Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 16x part BSat, 22 Nov 2008 03:27:22 -0800 by Toothache42This is the thirty-second part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood and Hector are fighting their way through the port of Badon to reach Fargus, seeking aid and weapons from the nearby houses. However, a dangerous member of the Black Fang has arrived to take advantage of the pirate's challenge. Will this prove too much for Eliwood and Hector to overcome?By picking the pirates off one or two at a time, they become much easier to deal with. The Silver Axe pirates do not move until you get close so that makes things easier. The main thing to worry about is the Black Fang paladin and his Killing Edge, but Oswin can take that guy easily. The third part will be a demonstration of certain aspects of the game, which may interest you for new players. Related: fire emblem blazing sword lyn eliwood hector | |

| Fire Emblem 7 longplay - Chapter 16x part ASat, 22 Nov 2008 01:55:38 -0800 by Toothache42This is the thirty-first part of my Fire Emblem - Blazing Sword playthrough. In this part, Eliwood, Lyn and Hector arrive at the port of Badon, hoping to get a ship that will take them to the Dread Isle, but no-one will take them. One of the sailors suggests they speak to pirates, who will do most anything for gold. Lyn disapproves and goes to seek someone else, while Eliwood and Hector speak to the pirate captain Fargus. Fargus asks for a lot of cash, which Eliwood agrees to, but then after he leaves one of the pirate crew gives Eliwood a message - if you can speak to Fargus unharmed while his crew attack, you can travel for free. In addition, a scholar who is also seeking passage to the Dread Isle, Canas, also decides to join the fight. But will this new challenge provide to be too much for Eliwood and his party? This chapter involved a lot of retrying since the enemies are a lot tougher than you at this point, and most are carrying some powerful weapons - Killer Axe, Silver Axe, Elfire. Rather than trying to take them all on at once, it is best to head north and across and encourage them to attack one or two at a time, picking them off instead of them rushing and overpowering you. In fact you can ignore them completely, but more exp is always helpful. Related: fire emblem blazing sword lyn eliwood hector | |
