Picture used for this box i found on web, but i will experiment to create my own designs. In this movie camera is placed inside box, interesting effect huh?A fractal is generally "a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least approximately) a reduced-size copy of the whole, a property called self-similarity. Anyway i think some time about CHAOS and its RULES. Obviously it seem like chaos have no rules; everything is random and unpredictable. A thin layer of sand which covers the plates forms figures when the plate vibrates after running a violin bow along the edge. The shape of the figures depends on the frequency of vibration. The method is now used to investigate musical instruments. Chladni used a violin bow to induce vibrations in a metal plate, but the vibrations may be also produced in another way, for example by resonating electrical circuits. With this method it is easier to obtain more complicated figures created by higher frequency vibrations of the plate.I found that such cymatic patterns (Chladini figures) could be interesting for sides of puzzle box (especially when keep in mid they are music boxes) To my surprise these shapes fit together in 3D model of cube, so this way of box making is one from my most favourite. This box is experimental, made from picture i found, which could work for such purpose. Now am think about design my own, use gothic fonts, made three or six different sides. Similar style like on video but different containment. Here is meaning of picture from this box:From: The Complete Book of Magic Science (unpublished).A MAGIC CIRCLE.The above figure is a complete and faithful representation of a magic circle as designed by medieval conjurers for the invocation of spirits. The magician accompanied by his assistant takes his place at the point formed by the crossing of the central lines marked MAGISTER. the words about the circle are names of the invisible intelligences, and the small crosses mark points at which certain prayers and invocations are recied. the small circle outside is prepared for the spirit to be invoked and while in use has the signature of the desired intelligence traced within the triangle. Let me remind this: earth is inside and outside stable, air is inside and outside unstable, water and fire are mixed for example inside stable and outside unstable or inside unstable and outside stable. Each side of box may be rotated by 90 degree and make 4x6=24 possible combinations of four elements (which may describle the same sa runes everything is possible to do) I liked this system but it seem to be not enough for entire box, because too much empty space on each side, so i tryed to fill it by some other systems, pictures, riddles. Suddenly i found it coud be possible made box only from element system. Its because square may be divided into small and big (1/2) corners, which will work as elements inside-outside part, and for stable-unstable just make lines through them. This is very simple, ofcourse most novices will be confused looking at these lines which may look like are random or create together labirynth around cube. Just keep in mind element system to understand it. Anyway thats why i call this box "Labirytnh of Reality" (we all are inside this labirynth, because everything possible to do can be describled by some side of box) BTW its amazing that cube with few lines around may contain complex knowledge. | Puzzle box - prototype 4Thu, 20 Nov 2008 01:27:34 -0800 by LichXLTime for another experiments! Yesterday i spend some hours to invent new ways of box making. My all previously boxes was monochrome, so i tryed change that part to open some new possibilities. Result is interesting, maybe such box look like kid toy but it work. I chose name "Box of Sunrise" characteristic because shape and colours, which remind rising sun. But sunrise is also deeper symbol of birth and energy. This new box is based on my first idea "Box of transformations" (elements in the corners, which are made from inside-outside, stable-unstable) Beside that i put some new symbols inside, mostly to made riddle more difficulty. So here are three rings on each side, which user may rotate to open box. Also sun rays which are buttons. This all made many possible configurations, so difficulty is high. Rings are two 3/4 and one 1/2, where are three sides with outside red - inside yellow, and three sides with rings outside yellow - inside red (to make perfect balance) Reasuming its something like Box of Transformations with toy appearance and difficulty puzzle. At previously boxes i think long time, this one was invent in one hour of brainstorm. Similar to first concept contain elements inside corners, which now are shown different and even better. Its the same idea of stable and unstable part, also inside and outside. Most striking symbol is star, so i called it "Star of hope" Elements are connected with I-CING. Puzzle could be hidden in these eight symbols because they have double meanings like "danger in move" "open, pleasure" User must understand what mean trigrams and here search buttons to open box, also avoid traps. Its similar idea to "Box of transformations" everything in the world are some combinations of energies, every action can be describled by some side of box. So you need to follow some secret path to get results (i dont found any path there, but this theory make sense and could be possible) Well maybe after some research i could find this. You may see different things looking at the same side! Just change focus and you may see CROSS of FRUIT (flowers) Thats why i called if "Forbidden fruit" Box is made from one panel 1x6, they fit together pretty good, later i continue this style, design just one side which could be enough for entire box. Anyway when everything look the same its really good opportunity to hide some movable details, user will dont known where they are. Or could be some small different details (like on two similar pictures where you must find differences) and this way could work whole puzzle: you neet to find differences and there are buttons to open box. When rotate each side you get 4x6=24 combinations. Its the same as amount of runes: each letter have vibration, energy. Rotate box and focus on sides mean travell trough some energies, which in result should bring some magical results. I really believed this could work, but i dont found correct "passage". Each element have part inside and outside. Dark is stable, white unstable. So earth is outside and inside stable. Air is outside and inside unstable. Air and water are outside or inside stable or unstable. (keep in mind that model shown on video is not perfect) Each side contain David star, which is alchemist symbol, because contain four elements triangles. I dont have name, maybe "Box of transformations" could be correct. I dont care that box is really simple, well usualy simple and obviously things contain perfection. I think this version is enough good to produce wood model for collection.Also i put little solution how open such box, but real/finall box could be more dificulty.Deep understanding of symbols is solution how open such box.
