Not believing, but only experiencing, says Osho in this inspiring book, is a way of finding truth and meaning. While Nietzsche’s declaration that “God is dead, therefore man is free” was an incredible step in understanding, he argues, it is in itself a negative solution and does not bring freedom. Simply removing God is not enough. In The God Conspiracy, Osho offers a solution beyond Nietzsche — meditation, a direct connection with existence itself. Here he show… More >>
The God Conspiracy: The Path from Superstition to Super Consciousness

This is not a review of the above book, but a personal commentary in response to some of the other comments posted. The single star should not imply that I have read and am critiquing this book, but apparently the software does not allow you to post without selecting at least one star.
Trying to find meaning within ourselves is futile. At best we are sinful people who may at times do good to our fellow man, but it’s frequently motivated by some selfish desire of our own when we honestly examine our true motives. Without God having set the standard for us in the first place, there can be no true motivation to do good, and without God’s law there is nothing to say or prove that doing good is even commendable, other than some fleeting feeling we may have because we’ve been given a conscience by our creator. Surrendering our selfish wills and seeking to find God’s will for one’s life IS experiential and will bring you the closest to experiencing peace in this lifetime. I shudder at those who claim to have found peace in some mystical, ethereal inner searching. They will find themselves in some deep doodoo come the day they stand before God to give an account for their lives and find there is nothing to keep them from having to pay the penalty warranted by their own sins. (And by the way, the smallest sin is deserving of eternal separation from God) A much better scenario involves believing and trusting in the Savior provided to man by God, whose death will completely cover the payment you owe. I beg of you, read God’s word, the Bible! I don’t discourage anyone from reading this book or any other philosophical speculation of mere man, but I believe that reading these and shunning the life-giving words of God will ultimately bring you to an eternal place of no escape.
Using the word “conspiracy” implies much. There may exist out there sects, denominations, even cults that will try to force their beliefs on others to grow their movement. True Christianity however, has no such agenda. It fully recognizes that the choice is in the hands of each man’s free will, and out of pure love for our fellow man we share our beliefs, in the hopes that they will be embraced to the benefit of each person shared with. May all those reading this allow God an opportunity to reveal his love and salvation through Jesus Christ! It comes by reading his word…that book I give 5 stars.

Osho is wonderful! This book is insightful, inspirational, and humorous as are all of his books, which are not his writings but live teachings to his disciples copied down in print. Osho was Totally Enlightened. He says what Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, etc. said but in a new style for a new age. Very positive. At the end of each chapter is a meditation on merging into the Oneness of Existence. A must have for those seeking authentic enlightenment.

I love Osho’s no nonsense direct approach to religion and the idea of God. He explains well why the idea of God separates you from truth and what you are, and he details why religion and superstition is so dangerous. But he also goes on to explain the dangers of atheism, of not having meditation, which raises awareness and consciousness. I wish this were required reading, globally.

This book is a huge eye opener. Of course, if you have read any OSHO books, you know that each one shows you a very different perspective to life. After reading this, my whole view on “God” and his place within existence changed. It opened me up to a lighter way of being in existence. This is not a book for closed minded people, for in all likely hood it will only upset you. However, that too is a sign that one’s beliefs aren’t on solid ground, for if they were, then this book would only make one laugh, not angry or scared.
